How much do tickets cost?

The Mission Over Malmstrom Open House is a FREE event. Food, beverages and souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Can I bring my cooler?

No. Coolers are prohibited. For a list of prohibited and allowed items, please visit the page under the Security tab.

Can I bring my canopy or pop-up tent?

No. Anything that could obstruct the view of other attendees is prohibited. For a list of prohibited and allowed items, please visit the page under the Security tab.

Is the viewing area shaded?

No. Please bring sunscreen. There will be some canopies available throughout the area, but they are not for seating.

Can I bring a wagon?

Wagons are permitted in lieu of strollers for transporting small children only.

Can I bring folding chairs?

Yes. Small folding chairs will be allowed to be carried from your car. Wagons are allowed only for transporting small children.

Should I bring hearing protection for my small children or is it provided?

Bring your hearing protection. Earplugs are not provided.

Are there areas for nursing mothers?

A nursing area is provided in Building 1440 where the STEM Expo is taking place, near the Kids Zone.

Can I bring my dog/cat?

Pets are not allowed at the Open House, with the exception of service animals. Please be prepared to show the proper paperwork at the entry control point.

Are the Saturday and Sunday shows/schedules the same?

Yes. Please refer to the tab “Schedule” for a detailed listing. Please take into account inclement weather changes.

What food options will be available?

Several food trucks and mobile food vendors will be onsite. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the duration of the show. There will be free water available if you bring your own water bottle.

Can I bring a picnic lunch with drinks?

No outside food or beverage (except water and baby food) is allowed at the Open House. Food and beverages are available for purchase throughout the event.

Are ATMs available or should I have cash with me?

ATMs will be available near the food and beverage area.

Can I shop at the Commissary during the event?

No. The Commissary is not open to the general public.

Can I shop at the Base Exchange during the event?

No. Traffic on base is restricted to the routes located under the Location/Parking tab. Only individuals with DoD IDs will be allowed to drive outside of those routes.

Do I need a REAL ID to get onto the base for the Open House?

No. Malmstrom will be open to the general public for the duration of the event.

Can I just park along 57th Street or Highway 87 to watch the show from there?

No. The Montana Highway Patrol and Cascade County Sheriff’s Department will be patrolling the nearby streets and highways. People parked along the roadway will be ticketed.

Will the tour buses be handicap accessible?

Unfortunately, the tour buses are not wheelchair or handicap accessible.

What is the cell phone reception like on base?

Cell phone reception is generally something determined by your carrier. Cell phones operate on base as they do in other areas of Great Falls.

Is free Wifi provided?

Wifi is not provided at the event.

Will there be charging stations or power outlets available?

Malmstrom will not provide charging stations or outlets for use by the general public. Sponsors and exhibitors may provide courtesy charging stations at their own cost.

I left my purse/camera bag on the bus. Where can I go to claim it?

Lost and found is located at the main medical tent near Building 1440 and Kid’s Zone.

How can I be a volunteer for the Open House?

Volunteers will be internal current active duty, civilian employees and on-base private organization. There are no additional outside needs for volunteers. Thank you for your interest!

Is smoking allowed?

Yes, smoking is allowed at the designated smoking area only. Smoking is not permitted in the parking lots or in line at the entry control points. The designated smoking area is located at the gazebo by the Kid’s Zone, north of Building 1440. Please refer to the map located on the LOCATION / PARKING tab.

Can I park my camper and leave it overnight?

No. Campers, trailers and recreational vehicles will not be granted access to any parking areas. Please leave them at home or at a local camp ground if you are camping in the local area. Only standard automobiles and trucks are authorized. There will be no overnight parking permitted.

Is tailgating allowed?

Tailgating will not be authorized anywhere on Malmstrom Air Force Base. Food and beverages will be available in the show area for purchase. Small fold out chairs will also be allowed into the show area for seating.
